  • 2-1-1 Virginia (SW Region) - 2-1-1 VIRGINIA offers information on a wide variety of services including: food pantries, quality childcare, physical and mental health resources, and services for older persons and individuals with disabilities. We currently maintain comprehensive information on more than 18,340 health- and human service-related programs in Virginia.
  • Council of Community Services, 502 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke - The Council of Community Services provides leadership for organizations and individuals in the areas of planning, information, and referral services to improve the quality of life in our communities.
  • Drop In Center or on Facebook, 356 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016 - The mission of the Drop-In Center is to provide access to information/education, resources and services in the prevention of HIV/STDs; to offer compassionate support services for persons affected by HIV/AIDS; and to support the groundwork for community building projects in a safe and confidential environment. We provide free, confidential oral HIV testing and oral rapid HIV screening by trained staff through use of the OraSure and OraQuick tests. The OraSure and OraQuick tests require no needles or blood and are highly accurate. The OraQuick rapid HIV antibody test can provide preliminary results in 20 minutes. There is no appointment necessary to be tested.

As the volunteer center for the Roanoke and New River Valleys, we provide easy access to a wide range of volunteer opportunities at nonprofit organizations and local government agencies serving the entire community. We link people who want to help – individuals, families, and students, businesses and their employees, civic, community, and faith-based organizations – with places of issues where their time, talent and interests can be utilized effectively.
  • Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter - The Rescue Mission is a Christ centered organization offering programs to help people physically, psychologically, socially and spiritually. Because the Rescue Mission is open 24 hours a day, it is the essential part of Southwest Virginia’s safety net for those in crisis. Before it is over, someone you love will need the Rescue Mission.

  • Roanoke City Homeless Assistance Team - The Homeless Assistance Team (HAT) provides outreach services and case management to homeless individuals and families needing help locating permanent housing.
