Privacy Policy

RoanokeDiversityCenter.com values the privacy of it’s visitors.  We do not use any part of the information submitted to this site for any purpose other than that stated or implied.  As a matter of policy, the RDC will inform  participants  beforehand at their events, if photographs will be taken by RDC  Board members, or by those hired by the RDC for  event  coverage.  Further, person’s viewing the RDC website, facebook, or other RDC generated media or advertisement should not assume that individuals identifiable in such items are of a certain sexual orientation or gender identification. While the RDC  values the positive images of our community,  in the promotion of our community ,the RDC, effort, and in the general struggle for LGBTQ....equality, we also understand that not all individuals within our community are “Out” and as such may expect a certain level of privacy . To the best of our ability, the RDC will respect and provide reasonable safeguards for those individuals. This, however, cannot be guaranteed, since we are not in control of participant’s camera phones etc which may be present at our events.    

Emailing Lists

The Roanoke Diversity Center will send mailings out periodically, informing our community of events etc occurring at the center, or at other venues through collaboration with other community groups/organizations/businesses etc.  The RDC mail and emailing list will not be sold to for-profit organizations or businesses, nor given to other individuals or groups for their specific purposes.

Resources and business listings contained on this website are not intended to imply sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement by the The Roanoke Diversity Center. The Roanoke Diversity Center neither warrants nor endorses such entities, their qualifications or certifications.  All inquiries or questions concerning the same should be directed to the party in question or to the applicable regulatory board or agency. We provide links from our site to other sites as a convenience.  However, we have no control over linked sites and make no representations about any content or material available at these locations.

Terms of Use

RoanokeDiversityCenter .com is a community service website specifically created to assist the minority LGBTQIA2..community here in the SW Virginia region. It functions as a portal for news, resources, event listings, special announcements, group and entertainment links, a speak-OUT area, as well as being an information hub for the on-going development of the Roanoke Diversity Center. It also has information/book inventory links etc for the Ricketson-Harris-Verkruisen Memorial LGBT Library now located at MCC Blue Ridge. Visitors are encouraged to use this website, and to interact and initiate new collaborative efforts within the community and beyond. All are encouraged to submit event, group and resource information to help make this site more useful to the community.

Visitors to this website are expected to respect all others when making submissions to the public “Speak OUT” areas etc. No names will be posted unless authorized specifically by all parties involved. Harmful, indecent, or demeaning language or art work will not be posted. Photo or other literary/artistic work must be the property of the submitter, or they must have specific authorization to make the submissions of the material for posting on this website. All contact information should be provided with submissions for verification.

This website is not responsible for inaccuracies in resources, links and other information provided as a courtesy. The user should verify details such as event dates/times etc as they may have changed since posting.
